Repairs Supervisor – Damp & Mould (Reactive Maintenance)

Location: West London


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Repairs Supervisor – Damp & Mould to join a leading social housing contractor. This role is focused on delivering high-quality inspections, ensuring compliance, and effectively managing damp and mould cases across tenanted properties.


The Role

As a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for conducting pre-inspections, diagnosing building defects, and ensuring the correct remedial works are carried out efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the latest legislation, including Awaab's Law, while maintaining excellent service standards for residents.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-inspections of tenanted properties

  • Identify root causes of damp and mould, including structural and environmental factors

  • Carry out damp and mould surveys with accurate reporting

  • Diagnose building faults (e.g. ventilation issues, leaks, insulation defects)

  • Assign and schedule the correct trades and resources for remedial works

  • Ensure all works are completed in line with current legislation and compliance standards

  • Monitor ongoing jobs to ensure quality and timely completion

  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams

  • Maintain detailed records using PDA / reporting systems

  • Deliver excellent customer service and handle sensitive cases professionally


Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Repairs Supervisor / Surveyor within social housing

  • Strong knowledge of damp and mould diagnosis and treatment

  • Experience conducting pre-inspections and property assessments

  • Good understanding of Awaab's Law and compliance requirements

  • Ability to identify building defects and specify remedial works

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in building surveying or construction

  • Experience managing reactive maintenance teams

  • Knowledge of housing association or local authority contracts

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm)
