Plasterer Liverpool

Role Purpose

To deliver high?quality plastering repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across social housing properties. The role involves working in both occupied (tenanted) homes and void properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally, and in line with organisational standards, customer service expectations, and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Plastering & Property Repairs

  • Carry out all aspects of plastering including skimming, bonding, patch repairs, boarding, rendering, and finishing to a high standard.

  • Prepare surfaces and work areas, ensuring correct materials and methods are used.

  • Undertake associated minor works such as:

    • Basic joinery (e.g., replacing battens, trimming boards)

    • Minor tiling repairs

    • Making good after electrical or plumbing works

  • Complete works in line with job tickets, schedules, and priority levels.

Working in Tenanted Properties

  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with residents.

  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment within occupied homes.

  • Respect residents’ homes, privacy, and circumstances.

  • Identify safeguarding concerns and report them appropriately.

Working in Void Properties

  • Carry out plastering works as part of full void refurbishments.

  • Work to tight turnaround times to ensure properties are ready for re?let.

  • Liaise with other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Work in accordance with health and safety legislation, including safe use of tools, PPE, and materials.

  • Follow asbestos awareness procedures and report suspected materials.

  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, risk assessments, and method statements.

Quality & Productivity

  • Deliver work to a high standard, achieving first?time fixes wherever possible.

  • Record job details accurately using handheld devices or job sheets.

  • Report additional works, variations, or property condition issues promptly.

  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience as a plasterer in domestic or social housing environments.

  • Strong skills in skimming, patching, boarding, and general making?good.

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Full UK driving licence (if role includes a company vehicle).

  • Awareness of safeguarding and working with vulnerable residents.

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plastering.

  • Experience working for a housing association, council, or maintenance contractor.

  • Multi?trade skills (tiling, basic carpentry, minor decorating).

  • Asbestos Awareness (UKATA) certification.

  • CSCS card.
