Overview
A skilled and reliable Multi?Skilled Carpenter is required to deliver high?quality repairs, maintenance, and small works across a social housing portfolio. The successful candidate will be an experienced carpenter with the ability to carry out additional multi?trade tasks such as basic plumbing, plastering, and general property maintenance. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, well?maintained homes and providing an excellent service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of carpentry repairs and installations in occupied and void social housing properties.
- Complete tasks such as:
- Door hanging, easing, and repairs
- Kitchen unit installation and repairs
- Skirting, architraves, and general joinery
- Flooring repairs and replacements
- Fitting bath panels, boxing?in, and minor structural carpentry
- Undertake multi?trade duties including:
- Basic plumbing (tap changes, leak repairs, toilet repairs, pipework adjustments)
- Patch plastering and minor wall repairs
- Basic tiling and making good
- General property maintenance tasks as required
- Diagnose issues, identify materials needed, and complete work to a high standard.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organisational standards.
- Maintain accurate job records using handheld devices or job management systems.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet service targets.
- Participate in an out?of?hours rota if required.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Carpentry/Joinery.
- Proven experience working in domestic or social housing environments.
- Competent in basic plumbing, plastering, and other multi?trade tasks.
- Strong problem?solving skills with the ability to work efficiently and safely.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
