Multi Trader (Social Housing)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi Trader to join our social housing maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across occupied and void properties. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality workmanship while ensuring tenant satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting & decorating, basic electrical works).

Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment works in social housing properties.

Diagnose issues, provide effective solutions, and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and service level agreements.

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent.

Deliver excellent customer service, respecting tenants’ homes and ensuring minimal disruption.

Report any safeguarding concerns or property issues beyond scope of work.
Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Multi Trader or similar role within social housing, property maintenance, or construction.

Competence in at least two core trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, plastering) with ability to undertake minor works in others.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on own initiative.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.

Full UK driving licence (company vehicle may be provided).

Knowledge of health & safety practices and safe working procedures.

NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant trade (desirable but not essential).
