Multi Plumber (Brent)

Job Title: Multi-Trade Plumber

Location: Brent (North West London)

Sector: Social Housing – Reactive Maintenance


Job Purpose

To carry out plumbing and multi-trade maintenance works within occupied and void social housing properties, responding to reactive repair requests in a timely and professional manner. The role involves delivering high-quality workmanship while ensuring tenant satisfaction and compliance with health and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Attend and complete reactive maintenance repairs across social housing properties

  • Carry out a wide range of plumbing works, including:

    • Leak detection and repair

    • Tap, toilet, and shower repairs/replacements

    • Pipework installation and maintenance

    • Unblocking sinks, baths, and drainage systems

  • Perform multi-trade tasks such as:

    • Basic carpentry (door repairs, boxing-in)

    • Minor tiling and patch plastering

    • Basic painting and decorating after repairs

  • Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solutions

  • Ensure all works are completed right first time

  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment in tenants’ homes

  • Provide excellent customer service when dealing with residents

  • Accurately complete job reports using PDA/mobile systems

  • Adhere to all health & safety and compliance regulations


Requirements

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing (or proven experience)

  • Experience working in social housing or domestic maintenance

  • Strong multi-trade skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Ability to work independently and manage workload

  • Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing

  • Experience with responsive/reactive maintenance contracts

  • Knowledge of social housing providers or contractors such as London Borough of Brent or partnering maintenance companies

  • Basic IT skills (for job management systems)


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday (typically 8:00am – 5:00pm)

  • Overtime and call-out rota may be required
