(Plastering Specialist) — Job Description

Role Overview

The Multi?Trade Operative will deliver high?quality repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across domestic and commercial properties, with plastering as the primary trade. The role requires a versatile professional capable of completing a wide range of building tasks to a high standard, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer?focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plastering Works — Carry out all aspects of plastering including skimming, bonding, patch repairs, boarding, rendering, and finishing to a high standard.

  • Multi?Trade Repairs — Undertake complementary tasks such as basic carpentry, tiling, painting, minor plumbing, and general building maintenance.

  • Property Maintenance — Diagnose issues, complete remedial works, and ensure properties are left clean, safe, and ready for occupation.

  • Health & Safety Compliance — Follow all site safety procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.

  • Customer Service — Communicate professionally with tenants, clients, and colleagues, providing clear updates and maintaining a positive service experience.

  • Quality Assurance — Ensure all work meets company standards, building regulations, and agreed specifications.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Plastering Expertise — Proven experience delivering high?quality plastering work across various surfaces and environments.

  • Multi?Trade Ability — Competence in at least two additional trades (e.g., joinery, tiling, painting, basic plumbing).

  • Problem?Solving — Ability to assess issues, identify solutions, and complete tasks efficiently.

  • Tool Proficiency — Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools.

  • Time Management — Capable of working independently, managing workloads, and meeting deadlines.

  • Driving Licence — Full UK driving licence (if the role requires travel between sites).

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or equivalent trade certification.

  • CSCS Card.

  • Additional trade qualifications (e.g., tiling, carpentry, painting & decorating).

  • Experience working in social housing, facilities management, or property maintenance environments.
